Ubuntu is the choice of the OpenStack generation - more than 60% of production clouds are reported to be on Ubuntu, as are 8 of the top 10 OpenStack clouds by size. Canonical runs an open certification program with interoperability testing, ensuring that customers can build Ubuntu OpenStack clouds with their choice of SDN or scale out storage or hypervisor from the widest partner ecosystem. Vendors wishing to certify their software or hardware with Ubuntu OpenStack need to know about OIL - the OpenStack Integration Lab - and about plugging their components into the OpenStack Autopilot.
