OpenStack Compute (Nova), has been a core component of OpenStack since the original Austin release in 2010. In the intervening years development has proceeded at a rapid pace adding support for new virtualization technologies and exposing additional features. Come learn how Compute fits into the OpenStack architecture, and how it interacts with other OpenStack components and the hypervisors it manages.
We'll also take peek under the hood and discuss internal compute components and how their interactions combine to manage the virtual machine instance lifecycle including:
- The Compute APIs.
- The Compute Scheduler.
- The Compute Conductor.
- The Compute Agent.
Finally we will look at some of the features added in OpenStack Kilo, and what we might expect to see in L. Audience members are expected to walk away with an intermediate understanding of the OpenStack Compute architecture and an understanding of some of the key issues facing typical Compute deployments.
